Indian Mining School Initiative

IIMTs – Indian Institute of Mining and Trade skills is a mining school initiative by DATAM EDU in collaboration with SkillsTech Australia (STA), NSDC, Government of Odisha and Mining Industries.

The project was envisaged with the following objectives:

  • To bridge the skill gaps in the Indian Mining Segments
  • To introduce Australian Vocational Education Training to the target audience in Mining Sector
  • To enhance and enrich students with global opportunities and make them as a ready workforce for Indian and Australian markets
  • To provide career pathway and international qualifications for semi-skilled and unskilled people
  • An MoU between DATAM EDU and SkillsTech was signed, followed by the MoU signing between the Government of Queensland and DATAM EDU
  • Industry interface, interface with academicians and government officials is in process for the procurement of infrastructure, equipment, course content, mobilization of students and other required activities
  • Once the Project is materialized, the proposal is submitted to NSDC for financial support

Target Audience:

  • Students age group (16 – 19) for certification courses offered by DATAM MEDU
  • Students who are 10th, 11th and 12th pass outs and economically weaker sections of the society
  • Self- Employed entrepreneurs
  • Potential and prospective professionals
  • Rural Indian Youth ( II –Tier , III – Tier cities)

DATAM EDU proposes to replicate the same model in the states of West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and other parts of the country.
